Through a series of videos, the doctors at the Ouchy Orthopedic Center shed light on the most common pathologies and their scientific research on the musculoskeletal system at the center. In this third video, Dr. Andrea Salvi, a specialist in orthopedics (FMH) and a fellow in hip and knee surgery, discusses knee osteoarthritis.

Dr. Andrea Salvi completed his medical training at the University Hospital of Brescia, one of Italy's leading trauma centers, where he obtained his specialist diploma in orthopedic and trauma surgery in 2020.

During his university studies, Dr. Salvi had the opportunity to undertake several training courses in Europe, notably at the University Hospital of Grenoble, in France, as well as at the Saint-Luc University Clinics in Brussels, Belgium, in order to deepen his clinical and surgical skills in the treatment of the lower limb.

Dr. Salvi has devoted the last few years to the study of knee osteoarthritis in order to perfect his knowledge, particularly in the field of unicompartmental prostheses.

Co-author of publications in various fields of orthopedics, Dr. Salvi wishes to contribute to the development of new approaches concerning knee pathologies, whether they are sports-related or degenerative, in the complexity of the biomechanics of the lower limb.

In August 2021, Dr. Salvi joined Medicol to undertake a fellowship with Dr. Jacques Vallotton.
