Call for a consultation
By Dr. Simon Joufflineau, orthopedic surgeon and fellow in hip and knee surgery at the Ouchy Orthopedic Centre
Through a series of videos, the doctors at the Ouchy Orthopedic Center shed light on the most common pathologies and their scientific research on the musculoskeletal system at the center. In this first video, Dr. Simon Joufflineau, orthopedic surgeon and fellow in hip and knee surgery, discusses meniscus tears.
Dr. Simon Joufflineau obtained his medical degree in 2014 from the Catholic University of Louvain in Brussels, Belgium. He trained in orthopedic and trauma surgery at this faculty and earned his specialist diploma in 2020. During his university training, Dr. Joufflineau focused on lower limb surgery, particularly hip and knee replacement surgery. He dedicated his final year of training exclusively to knee surgery at Saint Luc Hospital in Brussels. He also defended a thesis on the use of low-pressure tourniquets in total knee replacement.
In November 2020, Dr. Joufflineau joined Medicol to complete a fellowship in hip and knee surgery under Dr. Vallotton. He intends to pursue specialized training including unicompartmental knee replacements, ligament reconstructions, and knee and ankle arthroscopy.
