Passionate about their profession and wanting to create a center of excellence in orthopedics, Drs. Jacques Vallotton and Dante Marchesi founded Medicol in 2009 and launched a web platform for medical information in this field. Many surgeons and doctors from other specialties were attracted by this momentum and joined them. Medicol became a reference model for patient medical information and care during surgery. This multidisciplinary and user-friendly approach has made Medicol a success, ensuring the dissemination of information relating to each of its members and creating links with other medical and paramedical specialties. In 2013, Medicol entered into a partnership with Hirslanden Clinique Bois-Cerf and developed joint activities by organizing training events for healthcare professionals and the general public.

In 2018, Medicol received provisional authorization from the FMH (ISFM) to train young doctors in orthopedic surgery, authorization which will be definitively acquired in May 2022. This desire to commit to training is reflected in the hiring of new doctors and more efficient support for member doctors in the context of their surgical and scientific activity.

In 2018, Medicol took a new step and opened the Ouchy Orthopedic Center, which offers a medical consultation service specializing in orthopedic surgery and musculoskeletal trauma, physical medicine and rehabilitation, as well as sports medicine.
