Supplement 2 – Human Reconstructions
- Dr Jacques Vallotton
- Knee osteoarthritis
Author of "The Prehistory of the Pedestrian," she explains in this book our difference from the australopithecine lineage and why they cannot be our ancestors. Yvette Deloison describes the proto-hominoid at the origin of our lineage as a biped living in a semi-aquatic environment. The discovery of fossil footprints in Crete dating back more than 5 million years corroborates her thesis on our origins, and this opinion, supported by eminent specialists, has never been refuted to this day.
In this presentation, the speaker shares her experience with facial reconstructions from human skulls, highlighting the technical and scientific limitations of these approaches. She also discusses their use in forensic medicine for identifying unknown deceased individuals and addresses the difficulty of reconstructing an accurate face without soft tissue data.
